Meet Sisters of Service

Women ready to work!

Background Info

Sisters of Service is a US-Afghan female veteran mentorship organization working to create meaningful pathways, networks, and up skilling opportunities within the National Security and Service sectors for the 42 former special operation afghan women. Female Tactical Platoon or FTPs resettled in the US after the fall of Kabul in 2021. Since arriving, many FTP members expressed the desire to serve in the U.S. military; however their current status as asylees (one year away from green card status) bars this opportunity for the foreseeable future. FTP women currently work in various service industries to make ends meet as they adjust to living in America. These women have advanced security skills from searching and safeguarding women and children on missions, networking skills working alongside with foreign militaries, special operation units, NGOs, and gender liaisons, and crisis response skills including medical first aid, navigation, countering explosive devices, and physical fitness. Many are supporting family members but are willing to move for lucrative job opportunities.
